Volo Has Come A Long Way!

1960!

Grams Family Arrives In Volo

In 1960, the Grams family purchased a 30-acre dairy farm in Volo. This land would later become what is now known as Historic Volo Country Village, the home of the Volo Auto Museum, the Combat Zone (a military museum), Antique Malls 1 2 3, the Mercantile Mall, and the Straw Market.

In the 1960’s, before the Grams ever got involved in antiques or cars, they actually ran a furniture store in the historic barn, which was built in 1848. It is the largest wooden structure in Lake County and at one point was also the county’s largest dairy barn. Today, the four-story barn houses Antique Mall 1.
